The fist sounding rocket in Korea, KSR-420S has been under the development at Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), and is expected to be launched in 1993 to measure the vertical ozone profile over the Korean Peninsula. The KSR-420S is expected to provide the fist in situ measurement of ozone concentrations over the Korean Peninsula. An optical ozone detector has been developed at Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), and its calibration has been completed recently. In this paper, measurement principles of the ozone detector in KSR-420S, its calibration data, ozone measurement procedure and data reduction algorithm are presented with sample calculations.

Sixteen unitary Light curves of AR Lac in B and V are made at Yonsei University Observatory in the period of 1980-1988. Some overview findings of light variations are made. (1) The light variation outside eclipse follow none of the wave migration patterns reported by previous investigators. (2) Complicated shapes outside eclipse are apparently much reduced in the light curves of 1983-1984. This suggests than, in the future, AR Lac has a chance to attain a normal state with no complicated interactions. (3) The depths of the primary and the secondary mid-eclipses are changing year-to-year. (4) The K0 star, the larger component, has brightened by <TEX>$0.^m$</TEX> 14 in V, while the G2 star has shown a fluctuation of about <TEX>$0.^m$</TEX>05 in V. (5) The B-V values at primary mid-eclipse have no correlation with the depth variations. (6) Independently of the increase of maximum brightness, the B-V colors in the non-eclipsed phases changed slightly over the years.

초 장주기 식쌍성 31 Cyg의 UBV 광도곡선을 연세대학교 천문대 일산관측소에서 관측하여 1988년부터 1991년까지 3년 동안의 UBV 광도곡선과 1년간의 RI광도곡선을 완성하였다. 우리의 관측값과 문헌에서 수집한 관측값을 가지고 31 Cyg의 새로운 UBV 광도곡선을 완성하였다. 이 광도곡선으로 부터 Wilson-Devmney 계산법으로 계략적인 측광학적 해를 구하였다.

The spectra of 31 Cygni were taken at the Asiage Observatory in Italy. Reduction was made using the 2nd and 4th order non-linear least square method. Spectral lines which were relatively sharp or strong were identified within the wavelength regions from 3800 to 5100<TEX>$AA$</TEX>. Radial velocities and equivalent widths were calculated from the Gaussian Fitting Method for this star. The measured mean radial velocity of 31 Cygni is + 0.5km/sec.

Automatching algorithm is suitable for cross-correlation, which showed correlation surface about maximal correlation coefficient. The size of the window area must be determined empirically, whereas window size generally chosen as a compromise between speed and accuracy. It is possible that epipolar transform prevented from mismatching and decreased search space. In application of the astronomical fields, automatching algorithm mainly used to planet surface recovery in satellite image.

The dust formation processes in novae are investigated with close attention to recent infrared observations. Using mainly the classical nucleation theory, we have calculated the time scales of dust formation and growth in the environments of novas. Those time scales roughly the typical observations. We have classified the dust-forming novae into three classes according to their explosion properties and the thermodynamic properties of dust grains. Oxygen grains form much later than carbon grains because of their thermodynamic properties. The effect of grain formation to the efficiency of stellar winds to drive the material outward is tested with newly obtained Planck mean values of dust grains.

UBV observations at Yonsei University Observatory (500 and 537 observations each at Ilsan Station and at Campus Station) were made for the latest eclipse of <TEX>$\zeta$</TEX> Aur in 1987-1988. Orbital period of Saijo and Saito has been confirmed and the light and color variations on the night JD 244730 are found.

31Cyg는 Aur형의 장주기 쌍성으로, 확장된 대기를 갖는 초거성과 뜨거운 주계열성으로 이루어져 있다. 초거성의 wind는 질량 손실률이 크고, 차갑고, 낮은 terminal velocity를 갖는데, 일반적으로 Alfven wave가 wind mechanism으로 받어들여지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 31 Cyg에 대해 Alfven wave에 의한 모델을 적용하여 운동방정식을 직접 적분하였는데, 그 terminal velocity가 50∼80km/s로 관측값과 잘 들어 맞았다. 그리고 그 결과를 Kuin과 Ahmad(1989)의 경험적인 모델과 비교하였다.

수치적인 방법을 이용하여 인공위성의 궤도를 예보할 수 있는 소프트웨어 시스템 (IODS: ISSA Orbit Determination System)을 개발하였다. IODS의 궤도예보 정확도틀 평가하기 위히여 기상위성 NOAA-ll호와 정지위생 INTELSAT-V의 궤도를 예보하였고, 그 결과를 중앙기상대와 금산 위생통신지구국의 위성추적 자료와 비교하였다. 그리고 인공위성애 미치는 여러가지 섭동력을 정량적으로 분석하였다 한편, 동경 100도에 상공에 위치한 정지위성(KORSAT-l)의 궤도을 가정하여 궤도가 시간에 따라 변하는 양상을 IODS툴 이용하여 분석하였으며, KORSAT-l이 지구의 그림자에 들어가는 식현상을 예측하고 분석하였다.

The dynamical evolution of globular clusters is studied using the orbit-averaged multicomponent Fokker-Planck equation. The original code developed by Cohn(1980) is modi-fied to include the effect of stellar evolutions. Plommer's model is chosen as the initial density distribution with the initial mass function index <TEX>$\alpha$</TEX>=0.25, 0.65, 1.35, 2.35, and 3.35. The mass loss rate adopted in this work follows that of Fusi-Pecci and Renzini(1976). The stellar mass loss acts as the energy source, and thus affects the dynamical evolution of globular clusters by slowing down the evolution rate and extending the core collapse time Tcc. And the dynamical length scale <TEX>$$R_c</TEX>, <TEX>$$R_h</TEX> is also extended. This represents the expansion of cluster due to the stellar mass loss.
