1992년 8월에 발사된 한국의 첫번째 위성인 우리별 1호에는 저궤도 고에너지 입자환경를 관측하는 탑재체 cosmic ray experiment(CRE)가 실렸다. CRE는 크게 cosmic particle experiment(CPE)와 total dose esperiment(TDE) 두 시스템으로 구성된다. 이와 더불어 실험 탑재물은 아니지만, 프로그램 메모리와 램디스크(RAM disk)의 비트바뀜현상(SEU) 결과를 통해서 고에너지 입자환경에 대한 간접적인 정보를 얻을 수 있었다. 1993년 9월에 발사된 두 번재 위성 우리별 2호에는 OBCI인 KASCOM에서 프로그램 메모리와 램디스크 메모리에 대한 비트바뀜현상실험을 수행하였다. 우리별 1호와 2호는 그 구조는 비슷하지만 서로의 궤도가 다르기 때문에 두 위성의 실험결과를 분석해본다면 각 궤도에서의 고에너지 입자환경에 대한 비교연구할 수 있는 좋은 기회가 된다.

The attitude dynamics of KITSAT-1 are modeled including the gravity gradient stabilization method. We define the operation scenario during the initial attitude stabilization period by means of a magnetorquering control algorithm. The required constraints for the gravity gradient boom deployment are also examined. Attitude dynamics model and control laws are verified by analyzing in-orbit attitude sensor telemetry data.

A total of 546 UBV photoelectric observations of AG Per was carried out from January to December in 1993 at Chungbuk National University Observatory. With our observations, UBV light curves were constructed, three minimum times of JDHel. 2449284.213, JDHel. 2449360.060, and JDHel. 2449363.192 were determined. The phase displacement of secondary minimum time <TEX>$\delta$</TEX>=-0.046 were determined and orbital eccentricity e=0.071 was calculated. Forty-five times of minimum light (including ours) were collected from the literature and plotted on O-C diagram. We analyzed these data and apsidal motion period of U=76.17 (years) was obtained. Using e and U for AG Per, the internal structure constant, log k2, was found to be -2.13.

CCD time series photometry was performed for two Oosterhoff type II field RR Lyrae stars, SV Eri and XX And, to construct light curves in B and V bands. The maximum light times from our observations were combined with those in the literature to construct phase shift diagrams, from which we determined the period change rates <TEX>${\beta}$</TEX>. We obtained large positive period change rates for these stars, which are expected from current evolutionary models if these stars are evolving rapidly from blue to red toward the end of core helium burning phase.

One of the important effects of the space environment on the satellites and spacecrafts is the single event upsets (SEUs) which are caused by the high energy particles in space. A SEU occurs when an ionizing radiation produces a burst of electron-hole pairs in a digital microelectronic circuit and causes the charge state to change. We have developed and integrated a software package which can estimate the SEU rates for any specified locations or altitudes under various geophysical conditions. We report in this paper the algorithm of the software and the results for some devices with known parameters. We also compare the results with actual observations made by Akebono.

The generalized linear impulsive correction problem is applied to make a linear programming problem for optimizing trajectory of an orbiting spacecraft. Numerical application for the stationkeeping maneuver problem of geostationary satellite shows that this problem can efficiently find the optimal solution of the stationkeeping parameters, such as velocity changes, and the points of impulse by using the revised simplex method.

본 논문에서는 인공위성을 통하여 수신되는 다중대역 영상을 압축하기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 다대역 영상에서 보이는 대역간 상관성 및 대역내에서 각 화소간의 상관성을 줄이는 목표를 가지고, 화소간 상관성을 줄이기 위해서는 wavelet 변환을 사용하고, 대역간 상관성을 줄이기 위해서는 대역간 데이타블럭의 화소값간의 상관관계를 1차식으로 모델링하고 회귀(regression) 방법을 이용하여 대역간 화소 차이을 가깝게 하여 데이타 압축율을 향상시킨다. 변환계수는 데이타 압축율을 높이기 위해 변형된 힐버트 커브와 RLE 그리고 허프만 코딩을 이용하였다. 제안된 알고리듬은 우리별 1호 영상과 LANDSAT MSS 영상을 이용하여 실험하였으며, 성능평가 척도로는 원영상과 복원된 영상의 PSNR과 ISODATA를 이용할 때의 분류 능력을 비교하였다.

Satellite Technology Research Center(SaTReC) of Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(KAIST) has started a collaborative research, development, and training program in the field of space technology. As the result of that, SaTReC has successfully developed and operated the KISTAT-1, which is the first Korean satellite system. From the experience gained. SaTReC has developed the KITSAT-2 with its own technology and man-power and acquired the capability to design and to manufacture small satellite systems. In this paper, an overview of KITSAT-1/2 microsatellite systems and operational results are introduced.

Provision of the electrical power generated from solar array is one of the most fundamental requirements for the spacecraft payloads. Power subsystem collects, regulates and distributes power to the experiment payloads and to the various spacecraft subsystem. In this paper, the analysis result of the KITSAT-1 WOD shows that the in-orbit operation of whole power system has been in good condition.

In this paper, we describe the architecture and protoccl of stored-and-forward packet communication payload of KITSAT 1/2 microsatellites and then analyze this payload in terms of the probabilities of login success and login refusal, and maximum throughput as quality of service parmaeters.
